notes
Title from item or accompanying material.
The top reads “Story of the industrial war at Lawrence, Mass.” The title is missing the first two letters of “story.” There are six photographs in two columns of three. These are captioned “The strikers”; Reasons for the strike: a family cannot live on $6.00 a week”; “From cradle to grave in the mills”; “arresting a striking father”; “ready to plunge bayonets into woman’ blood”; and “with their backs to the wall.” Down the middle between the two columns “Wool and cotton czars shall not rule this country. Rouse, ye toilers! Get together!” At the bottom below the pictures: “Fellow workers and sympathizers: - Ammunition is needed for this Industrial War! Relief must be given to all who are on the Firing Line. Send money and goods to the Strike Committee Secretary; also for posters, so that the Facts may be known all over the World. Strike Committee Joseph Bedard, Financial Sec’y., 9 Mason Street, Lawrence, Mass.”
