notes
In the face of a historic demand for help, the American Red Cross used all possible means of reaching the public through advertising, posters being one of them. The organization gave citizens a vehicle through which they could unite to help their troops, and demonstrate their dedication to the U.S. and to winning the war. The record of achievement shown by the American Red Cross during WW I secured the organization's reputation as a trustworthy partner in times of need.
