Rev. Mr. Henry Flynt, Hancock Cemetery, Quincy, Massachusetts
This is the oldest stone within this ground. It reads, "Here lyes interrd y body of y Rev Mr Henry Flynt who came to New England in Y Year 1635, was ordained y firft teacher of Y Church of Brainury 1639, and died April 27 1668. He had y charagter of a gentleman remarkable for his piety learning wifdom * fidelity in his office. By him on his right hand lyes y body of Margery his beloved comfort who died March 1686. Her maiden name was Hoar. She was a gentlewoman of piety-prudence * peculiarly accomplfhed for infurugting young gentlewomen many being fent to her from other towns efpescially from Bofton. They defoended from antieny * good fainitys in England.
