Letter from Samuel Wolcott, Longmeadow, [Massachusetts], to Amos Augustus Phelps, 1846 June 8

Samuel Wolcott writes to Amos A. Phelps reproaching him for he and Mr. Warren using Wolcott's correspondence relating to Mr. Paxton. He writes that "the extracts which Warren has copied & sent to you were not intended for the public...you say that the reference to me was not forbidden. I have no copy of my private communication to you, but I am sure that I gave it to you in confidence." He writes that he sent a copy of a letter to Mr. Warren on the same subject.
