Source Description
George W. Putnam writes to Samuel May stating that he "shall be happy to accept the appointment you have given me as Agent of the Mass[achusetts] Anti-Slavery Society" and he promises to attend any meetings that May directs him to. Putnam also says he will "do the best in my power to advance the cause" but warns May that he has "a new speaker's want of confidence."
