Source Description
Charles Brigham writes to Samuel May answering his questions about where to hold the upcoming meeting and how late it can be deferred. Brigham says that the meeting will be held in the town hall, "the only House in Town large enough to accommodate," and that it should not be delayed past the middle of October, "as the days are growing shorter & colder." Brigham says he is "anxious to have a Convention here ... as we need to wake up the Political parties as Office seekers rule and tend to corrupt the masses of the people ..." He asks May to request that Wendell Phillips come to the meeting before the letter ends abruptly.
