Letter from John Sullivan Dwight, Boston, [Massachusetts], to James Freeman Clarke, 1837 March 10

John Sullivan Dwight writes to James Freeman Clarke in regards to Mr. Ripley's "intended series of translations" for German and French standard literature. He asks for his assistance with the volume he is preparing which will consist of "Minor poems" of Goethe & Schiller. He plans to present a faithful translation of the lyrics of these men. He asks what translations Clarke already has and "what pieces you would like to execute?"
