Letter from Theodore Parker, West Roxbury, [Massachusetts], to Convers Francis, 1840 Dec[ember] 18
Theodore Parker writes to Francis Convers in regards to seeing him so they can "talk over the state of the Church, sometime before long, I hope." He likens the Dial to "a band of men & maidens, daintily amazed in finery, 'walking in a vain shew." He approves Swedenborg who belongs to pantheistic mystics. He believes theological science must go through stages of hypothesis and experiment. He believes the method is analytical and empirical.
