Letter from Charles C. Barr, Boston, to Amos Augustus Phelps, April 6 1838

Charles Barry writes to Amos A. Phelps that he managed to obtain 6 subscriptions after holding a meeting at the closing of a religious service. This letter is written on the margin of a printed circular entitled “Boston Evangelist,” which advocates establishing of a new orthodox Congregational paper, to be called Boston Evangelist. The names of the subscribers, their address and the requested number of copies are written below the circular and above Barry letter.
