Letter from Elijah Fitch, Hopkinton, to Amos Augustus Phelps, February 22d 1833
After settling monetary accounts, Elijah Fitch writes to A. A. Phelps about the state of affair of his church. They are “plodding along in the old way.” Their pastor preaches well on the Sabbath but is unable to do anything more. The parish will have to decide what to do. He then relates a story about a child who showed a strong faith until she died.
