Letter from Frederick Douglass, Limerick, [Ireland], to Richard Davis Webb, 10th, Nov., 1845
Frederick Douglass writes to R.D. Webb that accompanying Wright would be detrimental to their success due to their differences. He says that his mission is purely anti-slavery one, whereas Wright is a reformer in general and “is identified with doctrines for which [Douglass himself does not] wish to seem responsible.”
