William Lloyd Garrison complains of the bad conditions of the streets from the heavy rains in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He tells about the Continental Hotel and the United States Hotel. The weather was very cold and there was a strong wind. William L. Garrison writes: "Frank means to do considerable boat-rowing while here, 'wind and weather permitting,' in order to strengthen his muscles; and I propose to make excursions in the little steamer down the lake, he accompanying me. We mean to enjoy ourselves to the extent of our opportunities, and hope to return home in a better physical condition than when we left it."
