Document source description
Henry Clarke Wright begs Garrison's pardon for remarks made in his last letter in which he had referred to the Liberator as his "mouthpiece", and states that while this statement was true within the context of his personal sentiments, he meant no insult to Garrison by stating this. Wright relays his upcoming travel schedule to Garrison. In closing, Wright states that the "spirit in which Grant & the Administration" have displayed in handling "Sherman's blunder" demonstrate that they "will make no compromise with slavery."
