Source Description
May says that he is sending a box of books and pamphlets for distribution in England and Ireland. He condemns an article by Reverend Dr. John Campbell that was published in "The British Banner." He says that presidential candidates are to be nominated this year. May tells Webb, "I think the feeling is gaining ground among our most reflecting and serious Abolitionists, that Slavery is only be extinguished in the land by a terrible outpouring of blood."
