Holograph, signed.
Dr. Taft's office was broken into and several boxes filled with items for the Boston bazaar were stolen. The police want Samuel May and someone connected with the anti-slavery fair to identify some stolen goods which might have been taken from Dr. Taft's office. The suspected thief is a recent "graduate" from the state prison and saw Dr. Taft "& spent much time in his office. Possibly he may have been there, when your packing, & c. was going on."
