"Incomplete letter; the last part of the letter is missing. This letter was written over the course of four consecutive days.",
"Debora Weston accounces that Wendell Phillips is to be here. Debora is worried about Anne W. Weston's health. Debora has 25 scholars. She describes the conspicuous politeness of a Mrs. Chase, whose young son had written her enthusiastically about the anti-slavery fair (in Boston). She remarks on the state of abolitionists here: \"I have no pleasure in any of these brethren...I don't fellowship anything here.\" On Tuesday, Jan. 24, Debora writes about Wendell Phillips's visit. \"His lecture before the Lyceum this evening was considered very fine, slightly whiggy & rather conservative.\" In a conversation about \"The Slave,\" Wendell Phillips said \"that it was said at one time that [Richard] Hildreth wrote it.\" [The \"Slave\" referred to is the book, The Slave; or Memoirs of Archy Moore, by Richard Hildreth, published anonymously in 1836; a later edition was entitled only Memoirs of Archy Moore.] Debora Weston said, \"I like Wendell [Phillips]. I think Ann Terry has done very well.\" [Ann Terry was Ann Terry Greene, who married Wendell Phillips in 1837.]"
