Debora Weston has been very anxious to hear about the results of the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society's fair. She asks about certain statements made by Nathaniel Colver and whether Martha V. Ball has real or varioloid smallpox. There is an epidemic of smallpox in New Bedford and Debora plans to get vaccinated. She is working very hard on the New Bedford anti-slavery fair. Debora said: "I sold the Parthenon to Samuel Rodman for $5..." She praises old Mrs. Rodman. She tells about the notices of anti-slavery meetings and the opposition she encountered in having them read in the churches. She mentions George Bradburn and his lecture. She reminds Caroline Weston that the stagecoach goes to New Bedford on Monday.
