        "Bell Doll Designed Exclusively for Telephone Pioneers of America. / At mid-20th century when the struggles for civil rights reminded Americans of the diversity of the country's population, doll makers offered dolls depicting African Americans, Hispanics, Chinese, Japanese, and other cultures. This particular doll reflects the strides gained in employment not just for African Americans, but also for women, who entered the workforce and assumed technical occupations, like phone lineman, previous held by white men."
