Source Description

Found at Jokha. Transcribed by Dr. Edgar J. Banks in a letter dated April 14, 1928: a bill of sale for 10 BAR and 5 KA of fine drink and 35 KA of meal on the 23rd day; 12.5 KA fine drink and 38 KA of meal on the 24th day; 15 KA of fine drink and 37 KA of meal on the 25th day for some workmen. Present on the tablet is a seal inscription containing several lines, reading: "Gimil-Sin[?], the mighty king, King of Ur, King of the four regions, by Zaza [...], the governor of Kish, his servant." Contents of this inscription dates the tablet to approximately 2350 B.C.E.
