Source Description

Found at Nippur. A record of the receipt of animals delivered to the temple to be offered to various gods. Transcribed by Dr. Edgar J. Banks in a letter dated April 14, 1928: (obverse) 1 lamb for the god Bel, 1 lamb for the goddess Belit, delivered by [illegible] 1 fat sheep and 2 lambs for Bel, 1 fat sheep and 2 lambs for Belit, 1 fat sheep for Ishtar, 1 fat sheep and 1 lamb for the god Nusku[?], 1 fat sheep for the goddess Ninharsag. (Reverse) 1 fat sheep and 1 lamb for the god Shulpauaau, 1 fat lamb for the god [illegible], [...] on the 20th day of the month.
