Hand drawn copy of "An early map of the harbor and town of New Bedford drawn by Captain David Leslie who came and settled in the town in the year 1800. He removed to the city of New York in 1821 as will be seen by the annexed bill of passage in the sloop Boston. The undersigned was one of the passengers on that sloop - a child four years old. E.N. Leslie." Includes locations of rope walks, salt works, smoking rocks, Palmers Island, Crow Island, and Egg Islands as well as sounding depths.
