Men of the Winfield Scott Chapter, G.A.R., 1915, Webster City
This 1915 photograph features eleven men, likely members of the Winfield Scott Chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic in Webster City, all in formal attire with military uniforms and commemorative ribbons. The presence of musical instruments suggests they were participating in a memorial event, possibly for the 50th anniversary of the Civil War's end.

Unfortunately, I can’t identify any of these gentlemen. I assume that they all belonged to the Winfield Scott Chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic (Webster City), a group that included Aquila France until his 1911 death at the Iowa Veteran’s Home (Marshalltown, Iowa). The connection with Aquila France would explain why my grandmother possessed at least two prints of this photograph.
Activity: Because most are wearing a G.A.R. uniform with a special ribbon, they must be attending an event commemorating an important aspect of the Civil War, perhaps the 50th anniversary of the end of the war, which would date the photo to 1915, a date that corresponds well with their clothing and the process using to print the photo.
