Source Description
This book was published as a tribute to Bonet by his literary colleagues in 1945. It contains essays on Bonet's career and work, photographs, and original binding patterns on tracing paper. One of the great masters of French bookbinding, Paul Bonet bound this book in one of the "sunburst" patterns for which he became famous in the 1930s and 1940s. These patterns are built up from many small, gold-tooled lines, meticulously planned and often resulting in an optical illusion of spatial depth.
