Source Description

This is a rather placid view of a stream flowing through the Surrey countryside. On the bank in the right foreground is a gnarled tree. Across the river in a cluster of trees at the left one sees a cottage. A man leans against a fence in front of the cottage. An old label on the reverse of the painting ascribes it to the artist.
