John Bagshawe, British Consul, Genoa
The writing on the evelope in the sitter's right hand reads "To John Bagshaw Esq. / British Consul / G ...." The final word is likely "Genoa" as John Bagshawe (1681-1737) was consul there from 1724 to his death in October 1737.
