Document source description

The scene occupies the well of the dish. Christ is surrounded by the apostles. Bread, wine cups and a dish containing the roasted paschal lamb are laid on the table which is covered with a white linen cloth. The black background is powdered with gilt punched dots and stars. The cavetto is decorated with gilt scrolls on a black ground. The rim displays eight cherub heads painted amidst gilt scrolls.In the central field of the reverse of the dish is a large shield-of-arms: sable, a double-headed eagle displayed argent, surmounted by a closed helm and colletin with a crest, with mantling in blue, white and orange. The border is decorated with gilt scrolls.
