Document source description
This ornament is called a "master-of-animals" standard due to its representation of a deity or demon flanked by monsters. Two cock heads emerge from the necks of the monsters. A second demon head is inserted midway down the body. These standards must have played a major role in the religious culture, and several examples have been excavated from burials.
