    "description": "Alvise Querini (1758 - 1834) was the last ambassador of the Republic of Venice in France from 1795 to 1797, he held important positions under the initial Austrian domination, but also in Napoleon’s Kingdom of Italy and then in the Lombardo-Veneto kingdom. His wife was Maria Lippomano, who descended from a family of Italian diplomats. Her brother was the last male heir of the family, and on his death the estate passed to Maria's son, Giovanni Querini Stampalia (1799-1869) who founded the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice.
