Document source description

This iron tsuba is probably an older tsuba that was incorporated into a set of fittings in the 18th or 19th century. While the tsuba itself is very plain, it is mounted with oversized washers ("seppa"). Designs of hearts and crosses are cut into the seppa to decorate the tsuba. This is part of a mounted set.
