Document source description

A standard (oblong) gold lacquer four compartment inro. The design extends around the inro with a peahen standing on rocks and surrounded by peonies. A peacock is on the other side in the same type of scenery. The design is in "takamakie" of various shades of gold with "obikirame" and inlay of aogai. With touches of brown lacquer on the wings of the birds. The background of "fundame" in gold. The interior with "nashiji." The rims with "kinji" or "fundame." With a wood netsuke carved in the shape of a clam.
