This tsuba may represent the Chinese Emperor Gaozu [Kao Tsu], who is sometimes shown slaying a dragon. Gaozu [Kao Tsu] was born a peasant, but became the founding emperor of the Han [Han] Dynasty in 202 BC. Water is depicted along the bottom and the opening on the right has been plugged.",
