The man riding the carp is the Chinese sage Kinkô (Ch. Kingao [Kinkao]). Kinkô visited the underwater world of the river at the invitation of the king of fish. He was last seen by his disciples on a carp's back telling them not to harm fish. This is a part of a set with Walters 51.952.
