The folds of her voluminous drapery accentuate the gesture of her raised hand and the gentle contraposto of her body. This statuette appears to be a late provincial adaptation of a 16th-century prototype. The Virgin's crown and the cross from the orb which Christ carries in his right hand are missing. The Virgin's right hand is carved separately.",
