Source Description
Kampei (right) and Okaru (left) are in love. Kampei is an aide to Lord Enya Hangan, whose forced suicide is the event that sparks the warriors' campaign for revenge. Here he is seen in an episode that takes place before the suicide. Hangan's wife has asked her maid Okaru to give a message to Kampei- a poem that Hangan later hands over to the villain Moronao. It is now inside the box held by Kampei. The delivery of the poem, which is a rejection of Moronao's improper advances, sets into motion the events leading to Hangan's suicide.
