During the Middle Ages, copper mantle clasps with enameled decoration and gemstones were primarily made for church garments. This clasp is decorated with the Annunciation scene, showing the Virgin and Gabriel surrounded by six dragons. This piece surely belonged to an ecclesiastical vestment.
