Source Description

The body of Christ, attached by three nails, falls slightly to the left. His head is raised and also turned to the left. The eyes are directed heavenward, and the mouth falls open, exposing the teeth and the tounge. A double cord supports the loincloth, which is gathered at the right. The sculptor has treated the anatomy of the torso and the limbs with exceptional grace and subtlety.
