Châlons-sur-Marne, ca. 1300-1325; possible original ownership by member of de Bar family (heraldic shield, fol. 2v, Pisces sign; soldier & male head depicted on fols. 133r and 21r perhaps original owner); references to both the d'Aspremont family of Namur and Lorraine and the de Bar family of Lorraine are in calendar, coat-of-arms on fol. 2v, and motto by member of Aspremont family, 17th century, fol. 7v: 'post morten [sic for 'mortem'] spero uitan [sic for 'uitam']/ I Apremont'; heraldic devices, some perhaps pseudo-heraldic, including two showing respectively one and four gold fleur-de-lis on blue ground, another showing gold crown on blue ground, 18th century (?), on fol. 1r, also copied in pencil on front pastedown and labeled '...(?) Aspremont', 19th/20th century; erased library stamp in lower margin, fol. 1r; Earl of Ashburnham, entry on front pastedown: 'A/ Catal. App./No. 53'; his sale, London, Sotheby's, 1 May 1899, no. 170; to Bernard Quaritch Ltd., London; Damascène Morgand, Paris bookseller, Bull. 48 (November 1899), no. 37262; penciled notation on fol. a, 19th/20th century: 'rapporté de Milan par François I'; Léon Gruel, Paris, Gruel and Engelmann bookplate inscribed 'No. 80'; Henry Walters, Baltimore, 1899-1931, by purchase from Gruel.
