Document source description

A standard (slightly rounded top and bottom) black ground three compartment inro. Design consists of a flying sparrow on one side with two more on the other. Part of the wing of one sparrow wraps around the case to the other side. The sparrows are in takamakie in brown, grey, and black lacquer. The top section of the inro with mura-nashiji in gold and with some subtle use of red. All of this on a black roiro ground. The interior in kinji or fundame. The cord channels are internal.A wood carved manju netsuke with a raden (mother-of-pearl) inlaid butterfly flying over two chrysanthemums of the same material.
