Source Description

The metalwork on this tsuka is decorated with waves and dragons. In place of a kashira is a kabuto gane, which is larger than a kashira. It has a design of stylized waves, accented by gold foam. Another plate with a pattern of waves surrounds the menuki. On the menuki are gold dragons holding tide-controlling jewels. Dragons are associated with the ocean. This is part of a mounted set.
