Source Description
Iron plates (three) riveted together, with a rounded bowl, a short pointed visor and a tail in the back. The tail which is the third plate was embossed to simulate laminated sheets of metal. The bottom of the tail is lacquered dark brown. A copper plume holder, decorated with crude cut out heart patterns, was riveted to the tail. The red lacquered visor and the russet color of the helmet are the only remaining Japanese modifications.
