Document source description

Cain, the son of a butcher, was a highly regarded animal sculptor who modeled large-scale works for public locations in Paris, such as the Luxembourg Gardens, the Tuileries Gardens, and the city hall. This particular example is a reduction (a copy in a smaller size) of a work that he made for one of the entrances to the Tuileries Gardens.
