Document source description
This fuchi is designed to fit next to the koi-guchi kanagu on the scabbard and the design crosses both pieces. It is decorated with a floral scroll motif and a crest ("mon") composed of diamonds. This crest was used by multiple warrior clans. It could have indicated the owner of the set or could have been commissioned by a member of that clan as a gift. This is part of a mounted set.
