Many elements link this crowned Buddha to the Bàyon style: the gem in the palm, the beading at the edge of the robe, the vocabulary of the pedestal. Technical characteristics suggest a connection with the Phimai tradition.Originally, this image sat on a base and in front of an aureole- either alone or together with two other images, most likely crowned.
