Kashira with Gagaku Drum on a Stand

This drum is used in "gagaku" court music and is known as a "tsuri daiko." The face is decorated with a swirled design called "tomoe." The mallets for striking the gong are on the bottom edge. This is part of a set with Walters 51.1000.
