Document source description

In the central cartouche of the kozuka, a dragon is depicted surrounded by waves. In the middle of the waves is a jewel. Dragons are often depicted with jewels, which are taken from Buddhist belief and also related to the two tide ruling jewels controlled by the Dragon King of the sea. On either side of the cartouche, the kozuka is divided into a further three segments. The bottom end is rounded with gold detailing.
