Source Description

Walters manuscript W.559 is bound in a non-contemporary binding that probably dates to the 10th century AH/AD 16th. It is composed of black goatskin (with a flap), and has a gold-tooled central lobed oval with pendants and cornerpieces decorated with a floral and vine motif. The binding also has a gold-tooled frame, and doublures of brown leather with a lobed oval, pendants, and cornerpieces, all with filigree decoration on a dark blue ground.
