Kashira with Japanese Phoenix (""Hô-ô"")
The mythical Japanese bird the "hô-ô" is similar to the phoenix. The vibrant colors of the bird are created though the use of gold, copper and shakudo. The "hô-ô" was a felicitous emblem. This is part of a set with Walters 51.1020.
