Document source description

Encircling the holder is a wide band of scrolling vine and blossom motifs in blue, green, red, and orange plique-à-jour enamel. A row of pointed arches, each enclosing trefoils in blue and three red circles in plique-à-jour enamel, all against opaque white, extends around the lower portion of the vessel. These arches are separated by three orange and one violet lozenge shapes. The thumb piece on the handle is inscribed with the monogram AC.
