Document source description
This remarkable example of plique-à-jour enameling has flaring walls decorated in a red scale pattern in which three blue, oval medallions have been incorporated. Within these, in floral settings, appear the following: a Kievan princess leaning on a baluster, perhaps awaiting her lover; a musician playing a balalaika, and a woman waving a scarf. In the base is a plique-à-jour moth.
