Source Description
The 11th Artel has incorporated a compendium of abstract floral, vegetative, and geometric motifs in this beaker which are in painted filigree enamel over either an opaque filigree enameled ground or a stippled gilt surface. The principal background colors are light and medium blue and greenish white. Ample use is made of translucent red enamel, particularly for triangles. Also distinctive, are the palmettes with filigree wire strands terminating in raised gilt drops. The influence of the Russian stil moderne is apparent in the highly stylized floral motifs.
